Hello everyone,

Did I understand correctly the meaning of this sentence ? Context: The text says there's nothing worse than losing a child.

"It is why the story of Jesus is so similarly universal in its tragic appeal."

Does "appeal" mean "call", here, or "attraction" ? Does it mean something like "is, in the same way, so universal in its dramatic call" ?

Je propose "est, dans le même ordre d’idées, si universelle dans son appel tragique"
