Go out there and do your best so you can find a good job and not depend on others!

Is the word not ok here? Is this sentence gramatically correct?

    This is acceptable colloquially. But, if examined closely, the "can" in "so you can find a good job" seems to carry on to qualify "not depend", which it cannot do. However, it is better as
    "and not be dependent on others" or
    "and do not [have to] depend on others."
