I looked up the words for social and sociable and they seem to have the same meaning. Then, can I use them interchangeable when I intend to say that someone likes or doesn't likes to be around people.

My boyfriend is social/ or sociable.
My boyfriend is unsocial/ or unsociable ( or anti-social?)

In your examples, I would use sociable/unsociable. And I would probably use them with modifiers, although it's not required:
    My boyfriend is pretty sociable.
    My boyfriend is fairly unsociable.

If I used "social" in a related context, I would use it in a more humorous way:
My boyfriend is not a social animal.

I don't know that I would use "unsocial," but that's just me. And I would never say never -- it's possible I might say it in some context that I can't think of at the moment.
