Hi all !

I'm looking for the equivalent of this expression ("Sois belle et tais-toi !") in English.
It's very frenchy i know (inspired by a Serge Gainsbourg's song), but if somebody has an idea...

Merci !

I would say "Get sexy or die trying", but I'm sure someone will come up with something much better than this.

(What is the use of my message then? I don't know)

I don't think there's a common idiom for this, but you might be able to play off (children) should be seen and not heard.

Another proposal by LART01 (on another thread) (thanks) :
Sois belle et tais-toi is a 1958 movie and the title was translated : Be beautiful but shut up!

    My new question is :
has this expression been used ironically in US or UK for men ? Like in France by Niagara in their song "Sois beau et tais-toi ?" Thanks

    Recapitulation :

    1. "Just shut up and look pretty" is an old, well-established one in English
    2. "Get sexy or die trying"
    3. "Sit down, look pretty".
    4. (children) should be seen and not heard
    5. "Women are meant to be seen, not heard"
    6. Be beautiful but shut up! (Sois belle et tais-toi is a French 1958 movie and the title was translated by)
