Sometimes only one person is missing and the whole world seems depopulated.

Hello everyone! This famous quote from Lamartine comes from the poem "L'isolement" ("Isolation").

I am desperately looking for the most current and established Russian translation. Being only versed in French and English, this has proven a lot more difficult than I thought.

If anyone could find it for me, I would be immensely grateful.

You can find a full translation by Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev here.

The line in question is translated as: Нет в мире одного — и мир весь опустел. (literally roughly: One is missing from the world — and the whole world is emptied.)

And if anyone is interested, the original French line is: Un seul être vous manque, et tout est dépeuplé !

There is a popular Russain song with the phrase which has a similar meaning "Опустела без тебя земля".
