son univers sans barrières

Please could someone help me translate the following sentences in English. The context is a woman talking about a man.

    Thank you :)

I would translate it as follows:
    (...) in his carefree universe.

    Does this make sense?

If it's not too colloquial for the style, maybe in his don't-tie-me-down (or don't-shut-me-in) world/universe/existence. It depends how his "besoin inaliénable de liberté" is portrayed in the rest of the context.

Il y a la notion de 'boundaries' en psychologie, et je me demandais si l'auteur pensait à ce sens : "Heathly boundaries allow a person to experience comfortable interdependence with other people, resulting in generally functioning relationships and positive self-regard."
