I asked my daughter: Yesterday Mommy said she would spank your bottom because you made a big trouble, did she spank you really?
She answered: No, she didn't spank me, she just told me off.

1. Did she spank you really?
2. Did she really spank you?

I am sure #2 is correct, is #1 also correct? I wanted to ask her whether it happened actually or not.

    The first sounds perfectly conversational to me. It is a way of expressing amazement or doubt that is added to a thought.

    I might punctuate it differently as I think there is a pause missing.

    Did she spank you--Really?
