Hi I'm looking for the English word for "SPEKSTEEN" a Dutch word for a kind of stone that sculpures use (amoung others).
Its greenish-brown and fairly rough in appearance till it's polished by the artist. (sounds a bit like me !!).
My sister in law used to carve lovely pieces out of this and it MIGHT be from Zimbabwe.
I need to know el pronto as my wife's bringing the pieces to an exhibition in Youghal Co Cork tomorrow.
