Starring (out of the cinematic lexical field?)

Hello,

I am wondering if the term "starring" can be used out of a film-making context.

Is it, for example, possible to announce "a series of conferences starring (the name of a famous speaker)"?

Thank you in advance for your feedbacks!

I'll then avoid "starring" which seems a bit too glitzy and not really appropriate for scientific conferences.

Thank you JulianStuart for your uncountable feedback! :)

It depends how "glam" your guest is, when top TV presenter / physicist Brian Cox appears anywhere I would say he "stars"!

Otherwise, "featuring" can be used in your OP sentence.
