Good day everyone,

I would like to ask which of these sentences below are correct.

Started from January this year, I have stopped smoking.

or

Starting from January this year, I have stopped smoking.

We know that in fact we're in March now.

Hope someone can help me to clarify about this matter.

The second one. Another option is "Since January (2015), I've stopped smoking."
