State likely to freeze tax exemption

I have a doubt , I am not sure if the State is going to keep the tax exemption as it is now for a long time or or if they are going to get rid of the tax exemption.

To freeze something is to leave it the same way.

You can hear this often in films where the criminal is ordered to "freeze" (not move) by the police.
