What is an adjective for a note which has very few words? { like in the case of (1) dismissal from service or (2)rejection of an application for a job or (3)declining to sanction a loan.}

    Thanks Copyright. It should have a negative connotation. In stead of a detailed note, a conveniently short note may have been made. How about 'scantily worded'?

    A terse note is quite a good choice, I think. Terse means short and to the point -- and most often has a negative connotation. Don't use "scantily worded." Use terse... trust me. :)
