Hi,

<In terms of stereotype busting, it's hard to beat the gay evangelical Christians. What could possibly to that? Evangelical Christians who don't believe in Jesus?>

What is the best alternative for 'sterotype busting'?
It's about irony?

A stereotype is a judgement many people hold about a certain group of people, which may or may not be based on any facts. For example, a stereotype would be 'all librarians wear glasses' or 'all blondes are dumb'. The stereotype about evangelical Christians is that they are very homophobic (they commonly believe that gay people are sinful, will go to hell, etc.) If some evangelical Christians actually are gay themselves, this obviously goes against this stereotype, therefore you could say that it 'busts' or breaks down the stereotype.
