    Hello,
I have found the word "stiff" in a playing card handbook. The author is explaining how to count the "loser cards", and he says:
    - "A stiff King counts as a loser card." -

I guess that here "stiff" means "single", "alone".
For example, if I have a King of spades and no other card of spades, I could say I have a "stiff King".

I would translate "Un Re singolo conta come una carta perdente".

    Could anybody please confirm ?
    Thanks

Direi "un Re spaiato/sparigliato/non in coppia conta come una carta perdente".

I would translate "Un Re singolo conta come una carta perdente".

"Un Re singolo..." (single) it can be ambiguous and not specific enough to the suit of the card. I don't think there is a specific word for this in Italian. May be you could say: "Un Re dal seme singolo conta come una carta perdente" or "Un Re spaiato conta come una carta perdente"

Perhaps, card players would have better suggestions.
