What does stock picker mean? Is it a person who buys stocks?

    In this context it's a person who selects and recommends stocks to buy.

    Thank you for the context. Context is critical to getting good answers.

    In another context it could mean something very different. There are people who are employed as stock pickers in warehouses. They read "pick tickets" (basically, orders) and then go into the warehouse and retreive those items.
