such as + clause

Hi. Is the usage of "such as" in this sentence correct?

"They failed to take many important factors into consideration, such as the house was too expensive for most people to afford."

    "such as" is fine for me, but I would use "being" instead of "was".

    ... consideration, such as the house being too expensive ...

    Or "...such as that the house was too expensive...."

    For me, perpend's suggestion requires the possessive: "...the house's being...."
