    Hi there,

What's the meaning of "sugar and spice"?
Does something come to your mind as synonym?

It occurs most often in a nursery rhyme:

"What are little girls made of ?
Sugar and spice, and all things nice,
that's what little girls are made of.

What are little boys made of ?
Frogs and snails, and puppy dogs tails,
that's what little boys are made of"
    Hello Erik,

When the nursery rhyme was written it was at a time when spice from Asia was considered to be a very precious commodity. Spices such as nutmeg, ginger, mace, cloves, vanilla - which we take for granted today.

So sugar and spice means something sweet and precious.
