What do these mean? I think he wrote figuratively.

This goal, repeated many times and sought so heavily, has been ungraspable as sun motes, unattainable as a loved one’s sigh. - LRH Introduction to Ethics

    Hello and welcome.:)

LRH = L. Ron Hubbard, the creator of Scientology and this from a poem he wrote (context which you should have included). He is writing figuratively, of course. What did he mean? I have no idea, as I have never really gone into Scientology. Maybe someone else here knows more about it then I do.

Sun motes - specks of dust glowing in a beam of sunlight. Try to catch one in your hand sometime. Try to capture a sigh. You won't be able to do either.
