Survival English / Survival Spanish

Hello

How would you say "Survival English" or "Survival Spanish" in German? I'm thinking of a basic language course (book or class) that provides just enough to "survive" or get by.

Thank you.

Hi sjheiss - Thanks for the quick reply.

I often do Google searches to check ideas and it seems Google can find only one version of uberlebenspanisch (no umlaut) and no occurrences of uberlebenenglisch (with or without umlaut).

This makes me think that there is another way to say this.

    Cheers

That's a tricky one. English compounds comprising survival are usually translated as 'Überlebens-'.
I can only think of 'Crash-Kurs' right now, as that is most likely understood by most Germans and implies a very quick and basic introduction to a given subject.

Somebody will come up with a better solution, I'm sure.

    Hello Kurtchen

Thank you for this. I have just checked in Google and CrashKurs Spanisch had several thousand finds.

    Cheers

Thought of another one: How about Überleben auf Spanisch?
I have to admit it sounds slightly awkward and it should be made clear in the context that it refers to a language course.
Erste Hilfe Spanisch - perhaps it'd be considered inappropriate by some.
