how do you spell swap meet or flea market in spanish. I think it might be slang, but I use to work with some guys that said something like: "Hey let's go to the Ramate". is that the right spelling?

    En España, es un mercadillo.
También he escuchado "mercado de pulgas".
    Depende del contexto.
    Saludos.

    In Puerto Rico,
flea market = pulguero (not a place infested with fleas but rather a place in which people sell stuff)

I think you heard "remate". Also, in México we call them "tianguis"

    Hi:
In Chile "feria de las pulgas" (usually sale of goods in the street) but a "remate" is not necessarily in the street but more usually at stores
    Bye
