Swedish: Gå undan och göra det

A line in a movie: A medical student is visiting her boyfriend who helps her with learning for the test. She wants to leave and study at home. The boyfriend says: "Men om det är med pluggandet och så där så finns det verkligen tid. Vi kan gå undan och göra det idag."

My suggestions: "We can go out and do this today." /e.g. for a walk/ "We can simply do it today." Which one is correct?

Undan here corresponds to English away or off, 'away to a place where one can be alone'.
It's common in gå undan och gråta, for example, 'go and cry by oneself'.
