Hi!
I've been reading a book from Elfred Berggren and i came across these sentences which i dont understand.

"Man är allt bra löjlig. Detta är alltså Blom, som brukade komma hem till mig, när vi gingo i skolan, och skriva av hemtal och få översättningarna dragna, och som jag då betraktade som mer eller mindre hopplös."

Can anyone help with the meaning of this

    But i cant find in dictionaries "hemtal" and the verb "dragna" doesnt make sense to me here. The first sentence is a bit confusing

    Hemtal - " home calculations" means maths homework. Skriva av hemtal - copy the maths homework done (by the narrator).
    Dragna, from dra - draw. The meaning of "översättningar dragna" is that the translations done by Blom were checked by the narrator, and corrected, before the homework was presented to the teacher.

    ...och få översättningarna dragna. The narrator told Blom how he (the narrator) had translated the texts. Blom didn't do any of his homework; he just copied everything.:)
