I'm readind HARRY POTTER and ' The Chambers of Secrets', and I dont know how to translate this sentence: " there's more in the frying pan, sweetums",
especially for the word 'sweetums'. Serait-ce " Il y en a encore dans la poële, mon chérie..."?

'Ma puce' will be for a girl, if it is then addressed to a girl. I understand the sweet, but can you explain from where if the 'ums' coming from? I coudn't find anything, to me it is not that as common as 'sweetie'.

Comme par exemple en France, on dit, “ma pu-puce” pour “ma puce” – pourquoi rajoute-t-on le “pu-“ au début? Ou “chou-chou”? Le “-ums” c’est comme le “y” ou “ie” à la fin de “sweetie” – ça n’a aucun vrai sens spécifique.

Bastoune l'a bien expliqué. J'ai demandé parce que ça ne me sonne pas très sincère. C'est doucéâtre (?). Petunia serait sincère, mais l'auteur se moque d'elle dans le choix d'expression, à mon avis.
