We can speak of tried-and-tested methods/approaches, etc, but is there a good synonym to describe people? For instance if people have proven their skills/experitise/quick thinking “in action”, so to speak?

I can’t think of nothing but “battle tested”, but I’m not sure that would be appropriate in a business context

Thanks! That’s doesn’t quite fit my context though :) I’m writing a letter of recommendation and want to describe our provider’s employees as a solid team of experts who “proved their worth in practice”, but can’t find an elegant way of putting it :)
