talon jour/nuit

Senior Member
In terms of resource usage, a piece of software offers information panels displaying data about resource usage that take into account: talon jour/nuit, talon weekend, talon vacances.
I don't see any mention in any of my dictionaries of what "talon" might be in the circumstances.
What works in English ? differential ? profile ? pattern ? I just can't get my head round this one :)

Yes, kind of like a stub, in that what happens at night or weekends or holidays is the small end of the graph, much like a talon on a shoe tapers off.
But somehow stub just doesn't work in the context in English - so maybe I'll be lucky and someone else comes up with a "closer" rendition - thanks for your input anyway, it means I'm on more-or-less the right track.
