Taste : sweet and salty

Hi, folks. Long ages no seen

Is there a term or substantive could be utilized to describe a dish that tastes salty and sweet?

    Hi, Lark Lover. Writers have tried odd compounds --at least I think they have -- to pick up combinations of basic tastes like "bitter" "sweet", etc. About the only successful one that I can think of is "bittersweet". You will do well to settle for "salty and sweet".

    Well, that is an amusing, creative idea. But "swalty" doesn't mean anything to me. I might figure out what it meant from the context of your sentence, but I wouldn't automatically assume that "swalty" meant anything at all. Strange-sounding words will make it more likely that your listener doesn't understand what you are saying. Does that make sense to you?
