Hello, friends, I am trying to translate and understand in Spanish some reviews about this novel.
'Head of Passes'. Could you help me put into Spanish the following sentence in bold letters.

"What Mr. McCraney, the extravagantly gifted author of The Brother/Sister Plays, is doing here is tearing down the warm and cozy house of feel-good African-American family portraits."
My try: What Mr McCraney.............................está haciendo aquí es destruyendo la derribando el cálido y acogedor sentimiento de que todo está bien en/con las familias afro-americana.

I am having a hard time finding out the message here in Spanish.
I will appreciate your help.
Thanks for your time

... derribando la cálida y acogedora casa de los retratos de familia afro-americanos.

"Feel-good" is more of a problem. The author's implication is that these portraits are intended to make people "feel good" about their family portraits.

Thanks, the thenewt, but I am still in doubt as to how to render this into Spanish. Thanks a lot, though, pal. Your translation gives me a better idea, but I am still not clear enough, let's wait and see if some native speaker chips in.
