tease about something

Hi all,

Is it correct to say "tease about something"?

For example:

They teased about my big tummy.

Many thanks!

You need a direct object (the person you are teasing): "to tease" is a transitive verb in most situations.

If the object is clear from the context, it can be omitted:

They teased me about my big tummy.
They talked about my big tummy, but they were just teasing.
