Normalement elle ou il répond donnant le nom de l'entreprise suivi de "bonjour" (avant 18 hres, et "bonsoir" après 18 hres.

Oh, if only they did! Too often it's a simple, rude "Allô!" or "J'écoute!"

'Allô' wouldn't necessarily sound rude to me; it would depend on the tone of voice. My mother used to say 'Hello, this is Montague Burton the tailor of taste' but nowadays that would sound ridiculous. I don't think 'Hello' sounds particularly rude either, although naming the company or department is often more helpful and professional.
