  • "to mean a lot" doesn't translate very well to Japanese, at least not literally.

    あやまってくれてありがとう。 (Thank you for apologizing)
    あやまってくれてうれしいです。 (I'm glad that you apologized)

    That's about the best I can do in this context without sounding awkward.
