Hi there,

Is "that was the case" a correct expression for this sentence?

In some of the jobs I had, I was in direct contact with people. That was the case when I worked as a waiter at a little restaurant.

    Yes, that’s perfectly good English. But we can’t tell you whether it’s appropriate in your context if we don’t know what that context is.

    I find it stylistically weak for the genre.

    Some of my prior work experience, such as my job as a waiter at a small restaurant, involved direct contact with people.
