That's the limit! (Is this expression old-fashioned?)

< Previous | Next >
Hello everyone,

Oxford and Merriam-Webster dictionaries say that "that's the limit!" is old-fashioned, meaning "something that's extremely annoying, unbearable, absurd". My question: Is "that's the limit!" old-fashioned in the example I made below?

He shouldn't have said you're overweight in front of all your friends. That's the limit!

Thank you in advance!

Well, you use it in the way those dictionaries explain and they clearly consider it outmoded. I tend to agree. Can't say I've heard anyone use the expression for a very long time.
