Why I must omit THE in these sentences?

(The) Banks open at 9 a.m.
(The) Stores open at 2 p.m.

I didn't get it

Banks/Stores open at 9. A general statements about all banks/stores. (All the banks and stores in the world? Or does your mind operate more locally than that?)

The banks/stores open at 9. A statement about the particular banks/stores you are thinking of. Ideally, you should have told your listener or reader which banks and stores you are thinking of.
