hello, i am hearing "madame hollywood", a music from felix da housecat & miss kittin. in the lyrics, we could hear :
    "everybody wants to be hollywood
the fame. the vanity. the glitz. the stories
one day i'll become a great big star
you know like the big dipper".
what's the meaning of "big dipper" in these lyrics.

    thank you

The Big Dipper is part of the constellation 'la Grande Ourse', the part that ressembles a pot with a handle, hence 'dipper' or ladle. It's a little strange to refer to it as A star, since it is many.

yes it is a little strange. it could be explained by the rhyme, but there isn't any in the whole song. :)

    en tout cas, merci.

Yes, more of a constellation. In Britain it's know as "The Plough".

The big dipper is Wilt Chamberlain's nickname. Star of NBA. Could be that !
