The boot of the car

Please I need some help to translate the "boot" of the car.

In England it's the back storage area of the car (closed off where you keep shopping etc), in US I believe it is called the trunk of the car

The following sentence is what ideally I'd like translating...

"The camera was in the boot/trunk of the car"

Context, I (female) misplaced my camera, and then found it was hidden in the back of the car.
