In the following context, can I change the underlined part (the Coca-cola company)
into simply Coca-cola? Or anything else? I’d like to shorten the whole part.

The rival of the Coca-cola Company, Pepsi was in a financial crisis in the early 20th century.
The Coca-cola Company
was afforded the chance to buythe Pepsi company. But it declined.
The two have battled for supremacy in the cola market ever since.

You can. "Coca-Cola" in this language clearly refers to the company and not the beverage.
