The cyclist ran the red light?

If a person was riding a bike and he/she did not stop at the red light. I wonder if I could say he/she ran the red light.

    I don’t think “running the red light” is used much, if at all, in the UK. We usually describe it as going through a light that’s at red.

    I agree: that sounds distinctly AE to me.

    "Jumped the lights" is another common way of expressing the idea in BE. :)
