It's difficult to explain, but I'm trying to write a humourous piece, about an imaginary festival, called:

The Festival of Hard Work and Unhappiness

I'm not sure how to write Hard Work in this context. Would it be OK to put:

La Fête de Travail dur et de Mécontentement?

Thankyou for any help

you can use Festival, why fête ?
And you should use du mécontentement.

about hard work : (dur) labeur ?

Thanks very much for your helpful and interesting replies everybody.

I didn't know about the words labeur or travaux forcés, that is so helpful, these words will suit the purpose of the humour I wish to put across.

Festival instead of fête is a good idea, thanks.
