    Welcome to Word Reference, pouchkine.

I have found a paraphrase on the web.

The divine and mystic energy behind all life.

Dylan Thomas can be very difficult to understand.

If you need help with a French translation, please post your question in the French>English forum.

Pity to go straight to a translation without a bit of a wrestle. Don't forget he was only sixteen (?) when he wrote it, and full of the emotions typical in a boy of that age, and conscious particularly of his emerging virility, and wondering what to do with it - yes, it's undoubtedly about that. The paraphrases I've found on the web aren't much easier to understand than the original, and often send one in what I regard as the wrong direction - take all that stuff about body fluids in the penultimate verse, for instance.
