Hi everyone! I don't quite understand the meaning of the phase "The heartbreak". Does it mean "The fact [that My phlox had powdery mildew last summer and it about killed me] is the thing breaking me heart"?

the context is as follows
====
Thank goodness for farmers. As a mere gardener, I don’t know how they do it. The heartbreak. My phlox had powdery mildew last summer and it about killed me.

Yeah, this time I'm quite sure the context just contains four sentences :) though it seems a little short...

    Somewhat clearer this time.
    The writer is suggesting that there can be strife, hardship and misery associated with gardening. She goes on to cite an example about her phlox suffering.
