hello

If I have a list of 4 items (A, B, C, D)
and I want C and D
Should I say the last two or the latter two? or Both are correct?

thanks

  • "The last two" is correct in this context. You could probably use "latter two" if someone asked you "Do you want A and B, or C and D?"

"The latter two" is equally correct in this context. It does not require "Do you want A and B, or C and D?", but I agree that most people wouldsay "the last two".
