Hi,
Since Jack works overtime more often than before, his children have decided to reduce the number of times they go on a picnic and the amount of time.

I'm trying to express that Jack and his family used to go on a picnic every weekend. They would spend about five hours in the park picnicking. But because of his busy schedule now, the thoughful children have decided to go picnicking only once a month and finish picnicking early. Does the underlined part sound natural?

Thank you so much.

    Hi, lokasseyve.

I understand the underlined part, but it sounds incomplete. I suggest this version: ...decided to reduce the amount of time they spend on picnics. Though it's not as specific, it covers the basic idea.
