- To answer this, could I say like this?

"Person B: I'm flying to London to attend the opening ceremony of our company's new branch."

    You could, but I don't know if I would use the word "ceromony". I would be more inclined to say ....... to attend the opening of our company's new branch.

    Everything else about your sentence is fine to me.

    I think your suggested response if fine. "Ceremony" does suggest a more formal or elaborate affair, however, so katie_here's suggestion to omit the word and use the noun "opening" is very good.
