Hi,

I would like to say "the process takes place in a closed container" but I'm unsure of the exact word for take place in this context.

Would it be advisable to use se dérouler or se passer? "Le processus se déroule / se passe dans un récipient fermé ?"

Many thanks in advance.

    I would say :
"Le processus se déroule dans un récipient", if you were thinking of the operation, but "la réaction se produit ..." if you were thinking of the chemistry taking place.
