I was reading a book, and I don't really understand what "the recipient of your hormones" means.
Context. He tells her: "I want to lay with you, watching old movies, my hand on your stomach, swollen with our child. I want to be afraid of your mood swings and the recipient of your hormones."
It's obviously something related to pregnancy, but looking up "recipient" in the dictionary I'm only able to come up with something like "Voglio preoccuparmi dei tuoi sbalzi d'umore e del ricevente dei tuoi ormoni", which doesn't make sense to me.
Anyone can help me?
