While there are a number of programs that clearly have self-acceptance as a cornerstone, the researchers who evaluate the efficacy of these programs would be better served to highlight specifically what components of the program were used to examine their relation to outcome. That is, if we are able to ascertain what part of the program leads to therapeutic change for specific clinical problems, then those areas could be targeted clinically and enhance therapeutic efficacy.

Researchers would greatly benefit the work of clinicians who work with youth if they more clearly articulated specific treatment procedures and therapeutic strategies and linked these to outcome.
