Do both modeled and made fit in the above and mean about the same? Thanks.

    I would choose "modeled" over "made", as the latter does not strike me as being particularly idiomatic ("modeled" also has a more clearer, more specific meaning).

    I would also change the preposition to "modeled on", but I suspect that is more personal preference than grammatical necessity.
