Is the tongue position for the ch sound as in chop and the j sound as in job, the same as the t and d tongue position?

    Oy. It's complicated.

"chop" is enunciated more forward, and "job" further back, on the alveolar ridge.

In the ch/j position, does it feel like the whole flat surface of the tip area is flat against the flat ridge or does it feel like a "part" or a "point" of the tip area is tapping against the corner of the ridge?
