Hi,

Is it considered to be incorrect to use a plural verb in a sentence where the subject is "United Nations"? (i.e., the full term, not the abbreviation "UN")

Thanks

Think of it this way. Even though the word nations is plural, the organization is singular: there is one United Nations Organization. It is the same with the United States. Even though the country is made up of 50 states, there is only one country so that is singular too.
