Hi all, is my use of "propose" (as in making a suggestion) correct in the following:

The venue is proposed to be Hall A.

Or is it better to say:

It is proposed that the venue be Hall A.

    I don't like either one. In addition to being wordy, the meaning is not very clear.
    Do you mean something like: The proposed venue is Hall A. or They proposed Hall A as the venue. ?
